The Final Stretch

Matilda is almost back in the Caribbean, we are in the final push to Grenada and rounding the top of South America. This has been a 2255 mile journey from Brazil.

This passage has brought us from the southern hemisphere where we have been for over a year back to the northern hemisphere. We crossed the equator on Tuesday March 5th at 1945h when our position changed from south to north. Our crew member was initiated by King Neptune in an elaborate ceremony giving him his shellback status.

The warm water and sandy beaches of the Caribbean are beckoning as are fresh food, sleep, and some delicious Caribbean beverages.
