We have been in Shelter Bay Marina (aka Shelter “Pay” Marina) for almost 3 weeks now. Matilda has been rigged and washed and inspected and wired and measured and provisioned and now it’s time to join the rally.
The majority of the World Arc boats departed from the other side of the Caribbean in St Lucia on January 7th. They hitched a ride with the trade winds to sail to Santa Marta in Colombia and now here to Shelter Bay.
We will go through the Panama Canal on Sunday January 29th in a convoy with our fellow ARC boats and will emerge on the Pacific side on Monday January 30th. After a couple of days in Panama City and a few more days cruising the Las Perlas islands we set sail for the Galápagos Islands.
The adventure of a lifetime begins. We eagerly await your posts and wish you both and Matilda a safe and wonderful voyage!
Big hug, champagne toast and lots of love.
